A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the emails sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a spelling error. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited messages, but this problem can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It’s also crucial to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound email messages to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting
In case you’ve got a shared hosting with our company and you wish to activate the catch-all option for a specific email mailbox that you’ve got in your account, it’ll take literally only a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can select one single address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning notification and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick another mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
The catch-all functionality can be enabled with ease if you have a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have created using the domain names hosted in the semi-dedicated server account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a small button handily located directly next to each of them. With only one click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choice provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature through the menu that will come into view. In case any of the preconditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will let you know, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
