All website hosting accounts are managed using a Control Panel and irrespective of the type of the latter, there's always a File Manager tool, which lets you browse the files that you have uploaded in the web hosting account and to execute basic operations with them, such as moving, copying or deleting. Depending on the specific tool, there can be more complex features too, such as control over permissions and archives. Certain Control Panels are simpler to work with than others and so are their File Manager sections. Since that's the main tool you shall use to control your files, it's critical to check in advance what options it comes with and if it shall work for you, because a hard-to-use File Manager could be a burden and could make managing your online presence more complicated.
File Manager in Shared Hosting
The File Manager tool, which is a part of our custom Hepsia CP, will allow you to administer all of the files that you upload to your shared hosting account with ease. You'll be able to move files and whole folders by dragging-and-dropping them inside the account. You could upload content in the same manner - pick a file/folder on your PC and drag it to your web browser where the File Manager is loaded. By right-clicking a file or a folder inside your account, you may also access context menus with more sophisticated options - you will be able to set up or to unpack an archive, to create a password-protected area, to modify the UNIX permissions through a web interface or to edit the content with a number of editors without ever leaving the CP – a plain text editor, a code editor or an HTML editor. We've also provided help articles and video tutorials, which you can access right from the File Manager to learn more about its functions.
